What Happens to Your Old PAN Card?
Your current PAN card remains valid and can still be used for all financial and tax-related purposes. However, to enjoy the new features of PAN 2.0, such as dynamic QR code authentication and faster digital verification, you can upgrade your PAN card online for free through the NSDL or UTIITSL portals within 30 days of the launch.
After 30 days, a nominal reissue fee of ₹8.26 will apply for upgrading to the digital PVC PAN card.
How to Apply for PAN 2.0: Step‑by‑Step Guide
- Visit the Official Portal – Go to the NSDL or UTIITSL website.
- Enter Details – Provide your PAN number, Aadhaar number, and date of birth.
- Verify with OTP – Complete identity verification using the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile.
- Pay Fees (If Applicable) – Upgrade is free within 30 days of launch; after that, a nominal fee applies.
- Get Your e‑PAN – Receive your digital PAN card via email in just 30 minutes.
- Physical Delivery (Optional) – If you request a PVC PAN card, it will be delivered to your address in 15–20 working days.
